Let me explain.
🤯 Wait, What’s a Distributed System? Think of Netflix. You hit play, and a bunch of servers all over the world coordinate to deliver your episode with (hopefully) zero buffering. There's no single "main" server doing all the work. It's a network of systems talking to each other.
Now imagine your body doing the same thing. You are the network.

As of June 13th, the first batch of 2 1 million kilowatt coal-fired power units developed and constructed by China Huadian and China Resources Group in the Gobi Energy Base at the northern foot of Tianshan Mountains in Xinjiang have successfully passed the 168 hour full load trial operation, marking the first batch of units in China's first "Shagehuang" new energy transmission base to be put into operation and generate electricity. The Gobi Energy Base at the northern foot of Tianshan Mountains in Xinjiang is located in the hinterland of the Gobi Desert in Santang Lake, Hami. It is a supporting power project for the "Xinjiang Electricity to Chongqing" project, which is a key construction project of China's "14th Five Year Plan". The total investment of Gobi Energy Base at the northern foot of Tianshan Mountains in Xinjiang is 54.7 billion yuan. The total power supply scale of the base is 14.2 million kilowatts, including 4 million kilowatts of coal power, 7 million kilowatts of wind power, 3 million kilowatts of photovoltaic power, and 200000 kilowatts of photothermal power. The supporting construction of 1.2 million kilowatts/4.8 million kilowatt hours of electrochemical energy storage devices. The base project is based on large-scale wind and photovoltaic power, supported by clean, efficient, and advanced energy-saving coal-fired power converted from local coal, and supported by stable, safe, and reliable ultra-high voltage transmission and transformation lines, achieving integrated planning, construction, and operation. The large-scale wind and photovoltaic base project in the Gobi Desert at the northern foot of the Tianshan Mountains in Xinjiang has a huge scale, complex geological conditions, harsh natural environment, and extremely high comprehensive technical difficulty. Faced with challenges, China Huadian and China Resources Group have overcome many technical difficulties: for the first time in the world, a steel pipe X-pillar structure has been used in the cooling tower between million kilowatt units, and the world's largest hyperbolic steel structure cooling tower has been built; Adopting multiple technologies such as the world's first 1000 MW high-efficiency ultra supercritical pure combustion Xinjiang high alkali coal boiler, the world's first asynchronous motor bidirectional control steam driven feedwater pump technology, and the world's first 200 MW large-scale photovoltaic medium voltage DC power generation system. As the first "Shagehuang" new energy transmission base in China, after the project is fully completed, it can reduce coal consumption by about 6 million tons and carbon dioxide emissions by about 16 million tons per year.
